Some artist used in the 1970th and 1980th the walls and the trains of the New York subway as media for there artistic work. Haring was well known by the way he used expired black poster for his calk drawings. Haring estimated that between 1980 and 1985 he created some thousand of such drawings. He was also jailed several times by the subway officers when they catch him "working".
